Looking for a religious-themed holiday gift?
Yeah right. Sating the thirst for hot Italian men is more like it.
Amyway...You have to poke around the site a bit (which also offers a calendar of hot gondoliers and... cats), and the Italian hasn't been translated too well into English, but I think y'all will get the idea.

What's your favorite app?

AMAZON.COM. Works just like the site - enter your search criteria, find what you're looking for, and either order it from the app or stick it on your wish list.

APP GMAIL. AppGmail is a full-screen Gmail browser. It pretty much acts as your Gmail website without all the other Safari crap cluttering up your screen. Access your Google Calender, Reader... any Google app, actually.

BUMP. Bump makes swapping contact information as simple as bumping two phones together. Truly.

DIRECTV. Never miss an episode of your favorite shows. DIRECTV's free iPhone application turns your iPhone into the easiest, fastest, most convenient way to find any program and set your home DVR — no matter where you are. It's just plain spooky how it works.

EBAY. See Amazon. Well, except for the Wish List part. But you can watch an item.

EVERNOTE. Evernote for iPhone lets you create notes, snap photos, and record voice memos that you can then access any time — from your iPhone, computer, or the web. Everything syncs up to everything else. I've replaced the iPhone standard NOTES app with Evernote.

FACEBOOK. 'Nuff said.

FML. If you don't know what FML is, then you've been living under a rock. Pulled from their website, the app is a collection of everyday anecdotes and stories of people letting it all out and unwinding by sharing the little things that can screw with your day - the day-to-day crap.

GOWALLA. Gowalla is a location-based iPhone diversion that rewards you for visiting both extraordinary and everyday places. Whether you’re traveling cross-country on vacation or simply traveling down the street to your favorite watering hole, check in with Gowalla to add to your collection of unique passport stamps. You can also collect icons left behind by others (kinda like virtual geocaching). Collect famous landmarks, notable architecture, epic retail meccas, hole-in-the-wall eateries, indie coffeehouses and more. Add your own favorite spots for others to find.

MOXIE. Moxie is a word game where you create words on a limited number of squares. You’re given one letter to play on three rows of five squares apiece. Letters that don’t spell a word appear in light grey. Once you spell a word, its letters turn black, earning points. Once a word is black, you can earn more points by adding onto that word to form a new one, or replacing letters in that word to spell a different one. You'll also learn what a "twaddle" is.

MYPHONE+. MyPhone+ is an all-in-one premium dialer and Facebook synchronization application. It provides all dialing options: keypad, contact list and favorites, while keeping your contacts up to date with their latest profile picture and information from Facebook. I use it for updating everyone's contact info, never for the dialing.

NIGHT STAND. Night Stand is a fantastic looking neon clock for your device. Launching the application will bring up a full screen display with a digital clock on a black background. You can choose from a range of different clock skins, all of which look great. One of the best things about Night Stand is that it will run with your iPod playing in the background. This makes for a great feature for anyone who likes to go to bed with music playing. Just put on some soothing music, turn of the lights and fall asleep to the music. Whenever you wake up you'll have the time right there next to you.

OPEN TABLE. Tired of calling restaurant after restaurant in order to make reservations on date night? OpenTable's iPhone app makes it as simple as a tap or two to get guaranteed reservations across the US and even overseas. Plus you get points for each reservation you complete, which earns you discounted meals.

PHOTOSHOP MOBILE. The tools are basic—you can crop, adjust exposure, saturation, and tint, among others, with some standard special effects like soft focus, colors and filters like "warm vintage" and pop—but using entirely swipe-based gestures as a virtual slider for how intensely or lightly the effect is applied is natural and easy.

PHOTOSWAP. Looking at something worth taking a picture of ? Use PhotoSwap and send your picture immediately to another randomly-selected PhotoSwap user. In exchange you'll get theirs. You can reply to each picture you receive with ... another picture, and engage in a real photo-based conversation. Each picture taken has one and only one recipient. It's really pretty cool.

PIC2SHOP. Pic2Shop is an iPhone app that lets you scan barcodes using the camera to lookup prices and product information online. It's great for comparison shopping.

SKEE-BALL. Skee-Ball is the classic carnie game that brings the fun of the boardwalk to your fingertips with 3D graphics, great physics, and awesome prizes.

TEXTS FROM LAST NIGHT. Much in the same vein as FML, this apps pulls TFLN posts from their website. Their tag line is,"Remember the text you shouldn't have sent last night, but did?". Or something like that.

VIDEO UP. VideoUp is very simple. You login to your Facebook account via Facebook Connect, choose which video you wish to upload (you can pick one in your library or shoot a new one), enter a description, and you’re done.

WEATHER CHANNEL. Infinitely better than the iPhone's standard weather app.

WORDS WITH FRIENDS. This app is basically Scrabble (although the board is a bit different) that you play one-on-one with someone else. Basically, once a player submits a move, he waits for his opponent to enter the app to make their move, and so on. Think of it as Scrabble whenever you damn well feel like it.

It's Wonder Wonder Woman Day!

The event will go to benefiting domestic violence centers (October is National Domestic Abuse Month). Over the past three years, the event has raised over $69,000.
In Portland, Excalibur Comics will be hosting an event from noon to 6pm, with a silent art auction — with art from Adam Hughes, Alex Ross, Gary Frank, Nicola Scott, and Jamal Igle — as well as creators including Gail Simone, the Hernandez Brothers, Paul Gulacy, and Aaron Lopresti signing books. Proceeds for this event will benefit Raphael House of Portland, Bradley Angle and Portland Women’s Crisis Line.
“For over sixty years, Wonder Woman has been an iconic female symbol of peace, strength, equality, and honesty,” said Andy Mangels, curator of the online Wonder Woman Museum. “Her story has been told in the pages of comic books and books, and on television shows, and her visuals and ideals are known worldwide. For the Wonder Woman Day events, fans and the general public have an opportunity to celebrate the character and the people who create her adventures, and they have the opportunity to be heroic themselves!”
Meanwhile, in Flemington, Comic Fusion will be hosting an event from noon to 5pm. They too will have a silent auction, with sketches from Adam Hughes, Khoi Pham, Billy Tan, and Whilce Portacio, and guests in attendence include Joe Sinnott, Chris Muller, Ken Haeser, Rob Kramer, and Buz Husson. This event will go towards Safe in Hunterdon.

Up on the housetop...
Synopsis: Scandal erupts at the North Pole when one of Santa's eight tiny reindeer accuses him of sexual harassment. As mass media descends upon the event, the other members of the sleigh team demand to share their perspectives, and a horrific tale of corruption and perversion emerges, which seems to implicate everyone from the littlest elf to the tainted Saint himself. With each deer's confession, the truth behind the shocking allegations becomes clearer and clearer. ...and murkier and murkier.
Below is the interim poster I've designed. Once the photo-shoot is completed, the cartoon reindeer will be replaced by the actors' photos.

The cast is as follows:
Dasher - Chris Prueitt
Cupid - Jeff Lindberg
Hollywood - Ryan Gigliotti
Blitzen - Robyn Pedretti Kelly
Comet - Kevin Kriegel
Dancer - Kathy Baker Wood
Donner - Kevin Bee
Vixen - Michelle Prueitt
It's an extremely exciting group of actors that I'm very much looking forward to working with. In addition, there will also be a few other surprise appearances by various local celebrities, as well as a special lobby fundraiser for a very worthy charity. Don't want to let too much cat out of the bag just yet.
Come join the show's Facebook Group!

Shiver Me Timbers!!

Some tips from the official website:
The basics
Pirate lingo is rich and complicated, sort of like a good stew. There are several other sites that offer glossaries that are pretty good, and you can find some of them on our links page.
But if you just want a quick fix, a surface gloss, a "pirate patina," if you will, here are the five basic words that you cannot live without. Master them, and you can face Talk Like a Pirate Day with a smile on your face and a parrot on your shoulder, if that's your thing.
Ahoy! - "Hello!"
Avast! - Stop and give attention. It can be used in a sense of surprise, "Whoa! Get a load of that!" which today makes it more of a "Check it out" or "No way!" or "Get off!"
Aye! - "Why yes, I agree most heartily with everything you just said or did."
Aye aye! - "I'll get right on that sir, as soon as my break is over."
Arrr! - This one is often confused with arrrgh, which is of course the sound you make when you sit on a belaying pin. "Arrr!" can mean, variously, "yes," "I agree," "I'm happy," "I'm enjoying this beer," "My team is going to win it all," "I saw that television show, it sucked!" and "That was a clever remark you or I just made." And those are just a few of the myriad possibilities of Arrr!

Top Ten Pickup lines for use on International Talk Like a Pirate Day
10 . Avast, me proud beauty! Wanna know why my Roger is so Jolly?
9. Have ya ever met a man with a real yardarm?
8. Come on up and see me urchins.
7. Yes, that is a hornpipe in my pocket and I am happy to see you.
6. I'd love to drop anchor in your lagoon.
5. Pardon me, but would ya mind if I fired me cannon through your porthole?
4. How'd you like to scrape the barnacles off of me rudder?
3. Ya know, darlin’, I’m 97 percent chum free.
2. Well blow me down?
And the number one pickup line for use on International Talk Like a Pirate Day is …
1. Prepare to be boarded.

Pirate Jokes:
As Cap'n Slappy says: Thar be only three pirate jokes in the world. The biggest one is the one that ends with someone usin' "Arrr" in the punchline. Oh, sure, thar be plenty o' these, but they're all the same damn joke.
"What's the pirate movie rated? - Arrr!"
"What kind o' socks does a pirate wear? - Arrrrgyle!"
"What's the problem with the way a pirate speaks? - Arrrrticulation!"
...and so forth.
The second joke is the one wear the pirate walks into the bar with a ships wheel attached to the front o' his trousers. The bartender asks, "What the hell is that ships wheel for?" The pirate says, "I don't know, but it's drivin' me nuts!"
And finally. A little boy is trick or treatin' on Halloween by himself. He is dressed as a pirate. At one house, a friendly man asks him, "Where are your buccaneers?" The little boy responds, "On either side o' me 'buccan' head!"
And there ye have it. A symposium on pirate humor that'll last ye a lifetime - so long as life is violent and short. And trust us, if you run into a fourth joke, we've heard that one, too. If ye think it's a real winner, then send it to PirateJokes.Com instead o' sendin' it to us.
And finally, the Pirate Keyboard:
