2011 - A Facebook Year in Review

It's that time of year, folks! Even though I haven't been blogging much here on the ol' Meatloaf (after all, Facebook kinda does the same thing now, right?), I just HAD to post my annual Facebook Status Year in Review. It's actually a fun way to look back and remember the year. So here it is: Every Facebook status update I posted in 2011.

JANUARY

  • As my last boneheaded move for 2010, I just realized that I left my Finding Nemo lunch bag (that I've had for three years) in the basket of the DAKcycle I rode out this afternoon at 4:00pm. I loved that lunch bag! However, someone is going to get some lovely dirty food containers and two pairs of clean underwear.
  • Quote of the day: "Just because you're good at something doesn't mean you like doing it."
  • is no longer a Bonefish Grill virgin.
  • Fun fact: The letters of the word "forty" are in alphabetical order; this is the only number that has this linguistic property in English.
  • failed to protect the Riddler from Deathstroke the Terminator, mainly due to all my fight moves and gadgets suddenly and inexplicably not working halfway through the battle. Gotta love beta tests! :-)
  • Quote of the night: "You can't be the father of the bride, you're much too young."
  • It's a "35" kinda day! :-)
  • Catching up on comic book movies we haven't seen yet - last night: "Scott Pilgrim"; tonight: "Kick-Ass"; tomorrow: "The Spirit"... maybe.
  • Currently at Costco, and I'm convinced we're the only ones here who speak English.
  • just read this sentence on a message board and chuckled mightily: "And if that beard were any faker, it would be named 'Katie Holmes'."
  • Ultimate geek moment: Being first in line at GameStop when they open to buy DCUO (right in front of James Keaton, I happily might add!). Installing now. See y'all in about a week.
  • has recreated his three favorite COH heroes on DCUO. It's like having my own multiverse!
  • ... 30 ...
  • Had a great time at dinner in Epcot, then went to Downtown Disney for some Ghirardelli's. Saw a cool track jacket at World of Disney, but they didn't have my size. The only place on property that has them? Mouse Gear in Epcot. Sheesh!!
  • "I shall endeavor to transcribe it on my pad, photocopy it and file it for future reference."
  • Up and at 'em for an all-day film shoot. At least my first scene is in my pajamas...
  • saw enough fake blood today to last a lifetime!
  • 25 cds, 16 wds...
  • Quote of the day: "You don't put a bumper sticker on a Bentley."
  • Finally got to watch last night's American Idol today, and... I liked it! It's so bizarre (in a good way) seeing singers I recognize from our show, tho!
  • Sitting in Health Services for the first time ever, I just realized I can still say I've never been injured in show as Bruce - today's boo-boo happened as Chum. However, in a totally unrelated glitch, Mr. Ray's bike went down this afternoon as well. Guess it just wasn't my day for puppets!
  • Free Wi-fi at CentraCare... Who knew?
  • I hope this is the last time I'm ever hurt at work. The amount of driving back and forth to Health Services and Centra Care, to say nothing of the sitting around and waiting - all while in a lot of pain - is not an experience I'm anxious to revisit. I just want to go home and rest!!
  • Seven hours later and finally home - yay!! Official diagnosis: Lumbosacral sprain/strain. Prescriptions: Muscle relaxers and Motrin. Now to eat some dinner and crawl into bed!
  • Shouldn't muscle relaxants and pain meds make you feel better? Or at least less in pain? Bah!
  • C=20; W=11; P=28
  • Tonight's package: A t-shirt that says "My Uncle went on Safari and all I got was this crappy t-shirt"; a set of coasters; leopard-print pajama jeans; a rainforest snow globe; poison; darts; salt-and-pepper shakers that look like little huts.
  • Gonna attempt to "puppet up" at Nemo this afternoon after four days of recuperation (and drugs!). Wish me luck!
  • Quote of the night: "No, he's not a hippie... hippies believe in sex!"
  • Should I be concerned that Twitter is suggesting that I follow @WeightWatchers?
  • had a great work meeting last night and am definitely looking forward to the new challenges and adventure!
  • 15/8/21
  • Off to the races... the DRAG races!! Ha! Mae West's THE DRAG - TWO PERFORMANCES ONLY 1/29 and 1/30 (vroom! vroom!)
  • Busy day tomorrow - working a triple... and birthday month officially begins!

FEBRUARY

  • can hear Bill Warriner  seething from here... :-)
  • As NASA would say: "10..."
  • Had a somewhat stressful day today, but finished it off with a awesome show at Sleuths (great cast! great audience!), the season finale of Downton Abbey, and one of Kevin's Whoopie Pies (devil's food/peanut butter). Gonna now watch last night's American Idol then hit the sack - there are Guncles gathering tomorrow!
  • Quote of the afternoon: "That is so your vagina - angry and green."
  • When they play with them at 8:00 in the morning, my only thought is "Why the hell do we keep buying the boys squeaky toys???"
  • Anyone have a reliable pool service they can recommend? (and, please... no cracks about my wanting a pool boy!)
  • FIVE!!
  • Shopping at Target for a toilet paper spindle. Y'all are jealous. I can tell.
  • Just performed my 1000th show at Sleuths. Woot!!
  • Last day of school!
  • Just had a nice final FT day at Finding Nemo; The Musical, made even better by being onstage with some of my favorite cast-mates! Next up... THIS is the American Idol Experience! :-)
  • No matter how many times I try to "Hide all posts by Gowalla", they keep showing up in my feed. It's obviously a conspiracy.
  • Taxes done. Sadly.
  • really, really, really hates vaguebooking. What's the point (other than to call attention to yourself)?
  • Why is it, no matter how many reminders I leave myself, I always manage to miss sending my niece something for her birthday on time?
  • I'm borrowing this from Robby Pigott (with numbers changed for our stats): Yup... I'm in a domestic partnership... not a marriage... because some of you have a problem with the whole separation of church and state thing... so for 23 years we've been "not married"...
  • Didn't get much sleep and have a splitting headache. Those singers are in for a treat today!!
  • Sat in the middle chair today. New challenges galore!!
  • Birthday week has begun!
  • Birthday weekend is shaping up nicely - Sunday 2/27: all you can eat Prime rib night at Bananas Modern American Diner (7pm rez) ... Monday 2/28: Doing 6:30 finale show at American Idol, then heading down to "Blowin' Broadway" Cabaret Mondays at Mr. Sisters by 8pm. Who wants to join??
  • So I was thinking I might get myself a guitar for my birthday, but it turns out that our neighborhood Guitar Center has no idea what the phrase "Customer Service" means. Not one employee acknowledged my presence, let alone asked if I needed help (including the lone guitar salesguy in the "Acoustic Corral").
  • Totally feeling bloated and can't decide if it was Manny's loaded cheese fries or the Porterhouse. Or both. Still... yummy!
  • wants a theater project.
  • Totally earned my paycheck tonight. Whew!
  • Hey, everyone!!! Thank you SO much for all the birthday wishes - I greatly appreciate it!! :-)
  • Heading to Mr Sisters to continue the birthday shenanigans. Come join us!

MARCH

  • Had an awesome birthday weekend! Many thanks to the friends who joined us for various activities, the supercool gifts and baked goods, and all the birthday wishes via text, FB, and in person! Yay, me! :-)
  • "After Monday and Tuesday, even a week says WTF!"
  • Top 13? Very superstitious... (cue the music...)
  • Facebook oddity of the day: I sent a friend request that hasn't been accepted (yet), but their photo uploads are now showing up in my feed. Strange...
  • Well, here's a first: all of a sudden, my key won't go into the ignition.
  • PSN is down for 11 hours today, so no DCUO. Good thing I picked up DA2 yesterday!
  • "The motto of the mongoose family is: run and find out."
  • will be appearing tomorrow (Monday 3/14) with the one and only Mitzi Morris  at Mr. Sisters  for "Blowin' Broadway" Cabaret Mondays (starring Andrea Canny and John B. DeHaas)!
  • just finished rehearsing with Mitzi Morris  for our duet tonight at "Blowin' Broadway" Cabaret Mondays at Mr. Sisters. There may (or may not) be headband or two involved...
  • successfully survived my first-ever cabaret performance, thanks to my favorite Christine Lavin  song and a Xanadu-riffic duet with Mitzi Morris. Thanks to everyone who came out, and thanks to Andrea Canny, John B. DeHaas, and Mr. Sisters!!
  • wants to know why some people and businesses think it's perfectly acceptable to call someone's house at 8:00 in the morning. Guess what? IT'S NOT!!!
  • well, THAT was painful...
  • Couldn't load the Facebook site for a few minutes there... was convinced Robyn and Ryker finally shut it down!
  • Hard to believe we'll be in CT for a short visit two weeks from today (Friday). I haven't been there since July 2007!
  • My thoughts on Wonder Woman's TV costume (revealed today): the colors are too bright (esp. the blue), the armor looks too plastic. If the tiara, breastplate, belt, and other trim is gold, then the bracelets should be, too. I like the top (except for the star on the eagle), and I don't mind the pants per se, but the shiny material is horrible (I'm fine with the gold stars down the sides). The boots NEED to be red.
  • Did I really need that Capt'n Jack's Nutty Brother? Absolutely not. Was it worth every bite? Absolutely yes.
  • would like to switch dentists to one closer to home (Hunter's Creek area) - any recommendations/suggestions?
  • Kevin and I are planning on seeing Melissa Manchester at Epcot on Saturday if any friends are interested in joining us!
  • Ok, crisis averted - I figured out my outfit for the big anniversary bash. Y'all can carry on now.
  • Not sure how I feel about the retconning of the original 1950s Batwoman in the latest issue of "Batman Inc." It seems unnecessarily complicated and once again darkens a character that really didn't need it.
  • Sad to be missing MegaCon this year due to my work schedule. In other news: one week until CT!
  • I hate it when what I plan to say bears no relation to what actually comes out of my mouth... Ah, the beauty of live theater! (sorry, contestant!)
  • Today's agenda: The American Idol Experience ... Ziti Sisters ... Melissa Manchester.
  • Today's theme park pet peeve: smokers who can't (won't?) comprehend the concept of a "designated smoking area."
  • What?!? No Ice Castles? I feel cheated! Meh.
  • This afternoon: First "lay out by the pool" of the year! A sunny 91 degrees in March makes it easy. :-)
  • It's amazing to me how many "People You May Know" Facebook recommends to me that I... don't.
  • Why do I invariably wake up earlier on my days off than I need to on work days?
  • My streak of "someone dropped out and we need a replacement" casting happily continues - I've joined the cast of "Leading Ladies" at Theatre Downtown.

APRIL

  • was just body-scanned for the first time ever. Woo!
  • Is at The Big Bash!
  • Back to Orlando today!
  • "Love Will Keep Us Together" just started playing on the radio. On the "oldies" station. It was the first 45 I ever bought with my own money. Sigh...
  • Not only was I body-scanned again at the airport, but I received a free pat-down this time as well! Clearly, I am the suspicious type.
  • might start the 30 Day Song Challenge tomorrow...
  • Back to work today after eight days off, and totally looking forward to it. I miss my American Idol Experience family!!
  • See ya. Wouldn't wanna Pia.
  • Ok, Act 1 Scenes 2 & 3 and Act 2 Scenes 1 & 2 learned. Now on to the "ladies" stuff...
  • Ok, so today's winners: Pie - Lemon Chess Pie from Tippin's. Food - The Big Daddy Burger from the BBQ truck (see pics 44 & 45 - yum!).
  • just saved the life of a rather large turtle.
  • is pretty sure he can finally get through tonight's Leading Ladies rehearsal without a script in his hands. Holy hell, that was a lot of lines to learn in a week's time!
  • One week until opening night of Leading Ladies - a farce by Ken Ludwig. Ok, so I know my lines... now to learn their pesky cues so I don't keep stepping on my castmates' dialogue!
  • Sorry, Gowalla users. It's time to bite the bullet and just hide y'all from my feed since FB won't allow me to just hide your app updates.
  • Full day today - The American Idol Experience in the morning, followed by Tech, fittings, and run-throughs of Leading Ladies - a farce by Ken Ludwig ... (oh, and a pot luck dinner at the theater featuring Kevin Bee mac & cheese and lemon chess pie!)
  • My parents are visiting us in June and just happily found out my niece will be joining them... and it's her sweet-16 month! Gotta start planning lots of fun stuff for a VERY special birthday week!
  • Saw two license plates today, one ending in 6AY and one ending in 5EX... Doesn't anyone screen these things?
  • You know you have a fun job when you suddenly find yourself covered in glitter (and didn't realize it was happening) and someone takes a lollipop out of their mouth and sticks it on your face.
  • I really want to hide all these "Ask Friends" posts from my feed - they're about as annoying as the Gowalla posts.
  • Successful final dress of Leading Ladies tonight - whew!!
  • Fantastically successful opening night of Leading Ladies - a farce by Ken Ludwig last night! Come and see me get my Cleopatra on!
  • Busy weekend ahead: Today - Idol, then Leading Ladies. Tomorrow - Idol, then my penultimate Sleuths show.
  • I will never hear "La Bamba" in quite the same way again.
  • Today, April 23, is traditionally thought to be Shakespeare's birth date (as well as his death date). Tonight, I shall play a Shakespearean actor in Leading Ladies - a farce by Ken Ludwig. Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more...
  • On this date in 1939, DC Comics introduces its second major superhero in Detective Comics #27. Batman becomes a legend.
  • It's back to party dresses and Cleopatra garb as Leading Ladies - a farce by Ken Ludwig resumes performances this weekend. Four chances (Thu-Sun) to see me make an ASP out of myself! :-)
  • It's superhero underwear night at this evening's performance of "Leading Ladies"!!
  • Busy weekend ahead: Today - Idol @ 12, 1, and 2; then Leading Ladies @ 8 (and hosting friends - yay!). Tomorrow - Leading Ladies matinee @ 2:30; then my final Sleuths show @ 9.
  • Very much looking forward to tonight and seeing friends that we simply never see enough of: Al, Dawna, Erick, Melanie, and Lyndon.

MAY

  • Not gonna lie - today's two shows are gonna be rough. Zzzzzzzzzzzz...
  • "The dress fits the occasion. It's you that doesn't fit."
  • You know, I seldom post anything negative here on FB, but last night - after seven years and 1,020 performances - I did my last show at Sleuths Mystery Dinner Shows… and not one member of management even acknowledged it. No goodbyes, no well wishes… nothing. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but it definitely reinforced some of the reasons for my decision to leave.
  • learned a new word today: "ululating". I wonder if I can work it into an Idol critique?
  • Hey, there's a car coming! Let's walk/run right in front of it because we'll never get into the park unless we get on that tram right now!
  • OK, I'll say it: I want Haley to win.
  • Tonight: Opportunistic (yet suave) British stage actor, captivatingly vivacious redhead... or both? Yep, it's another weekend of Leading Ladies - a farce by Ken Ludwig. Come check it out!
  • Sad realization: you know you go to a restaurant too much when the waitress knows your drink order before you ask.
  • Just watched the latest Glee, which reminded me how much I love Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours".
  • New bike route - 7.1 miles in 45 minutes. Not too bad!
  • Hmm... It's really a simple concept: pay your $14, follow the arrows and people pointing, and park your car. What need can there possibly be to stop and talk to every attendant along the way? Especially when I'm behind you.
  • Bike route #3 - 8.2 miles in 50 minutes. Scary route, tho (OBT & Osceola Pkwy!)...
  • Well... now I can no longer say I've never voted on American Idol.
  • Who's a pretty girl? Not me, but you can see how close I come either tonight, tomorrow night, or Saturday night for the final weekend of Leading Ladies - a farce by Ken Ludwig!
  • Clearly, my voting for the first time on Idol kept Haley on the show. Hah! Bye-bye screaming James! :-)
  • Lots of friends in the audience last night - thanks to all for coming!! :-)
  • Today's bike route - 6.6 miles, and errands run as well. Go green!
  • And the curtain comes down on another show. Congrats and thanks to the "Leading Ladies" cast and crew!! "Ah, the friends thou hast. Grapple them to thy soul with hoops of steel."
  • oof... thunder storms + barking dog = crappy night of sleep. Those singers better hope I'm Judge 1 today!
  • Accessories are so important. Matching accessories even more so. Now where do I find a helmet to match my bike? :-)
  • Great night for a bike ride! (6.85 miles)
  • Sigh. The Hub: Worst. Site. Ever. What's up with that?
  • Yay for impromptu social time with Ned Wilkinson!
  • Well, next week's broadcasts are going to be the epitome of boring. When does season 11 start?
  • For those of you attending Star Wars Weekend this weekend, why not stop by next door and see me at The American Idol Experience? I'll be judging the last three shows today, first three on Saturday, and first three on Sunday. I'll wear leather. :-)
  • "Hush yo' mouth"! "Michael say" that was one of the "funnest" mornings at TAIE - kinda like "going potty in the woods". Right, gang? :-)
  • Another great evening bike ride - 6 mile loop. I think the pool is now calling me.
  • At last... Fringing tonight!
  • Had a great night at Fringe - "My Monster" is brilliant, "Bitches of the Kingdom" is lots of fun (my personal favorite - Mulan), and "Heaven Help Us" is delightfully silly ("I'm a tree!"). Plus, sitting on the lawn chatting with friends (and seeing others) is always a highlight, as is the fried PB&J.
  • Ahhh... 7-mile bike ride, dip in the pool; time to shower and curl up with a good e-book.
  • Lounging by the pool today? Don't mind if I do!
  • People should learn by now that if you don't want to be spoiled about something, then stay off Facebook while it's happening.
  • Well, something's up - it has smelled like smoke outside for the past 3 hours or so, and I swear I was being pelted by ashes on my bike ride just now!
  • Fun day at Idol today, doing shows with Scotty, Lauren, and Jacob in the audience and surrounded by an awesome cast and crew onstage (and off!) as well. :-)
  • Well, since DCUO was, overall, a truly crappy experience, I have resumed playing City of Heroes. Now if I can just remember what all my alts do!

JUNE

  • Just watched 7 hours straight of Game of Thrones. I'm a little numb.
  • Hope no one was planning on getting those Pride t-shirts from Old Navy in time for Gay Days weekend. Not only did they limit distribution to 26 stores out of 1000+ (which, admittedly, did include one in Orlando), they didn't ship them out in time for the June 1 arrival date.
  • Just had a fun day at Idol, as usual. :-)
  • Awesome mid-season Who finale!
  • Just parked in the Grumpy lot at the MK, and judging by the attitude of the parking attendants, it is very aptly named.
  • Our neighborhood Avon representative apparently decided the most effective way to distribute their catalog was to just toss it into everyone's driveway, thereby littering the entire street. I'm not sure that's the best method for enticing people to order products.
  • Just downloaded a new app on my iPad, and it automatically appeared on my iPhone. Thank you, iCloud!
  • can now not only teach people to chant, but also knows how to "make some noise" and "rock the vote". It's go time!
  • Is hungry and needs a plan for dinner... but first I have a finale to judge! :-)
  • Weird day at work, but surrounded by FUN folks. Family arrives in about 3.5 hours!
  • Family is here!!
  • Just scheduled a brush-up rehearsal for Finding Nemo: The Musical. We'll see what 4.5 months away from those sharks feels like! ==:-0
  • Three registers open and the line is still super long? That tells me you have reallllly slow cashiers.
  • "A Dance With Dragons" does not come out until July 12. In the meantime, I have finally bitten the bullet and have begun reading the Harry Potter books. I am now halfway through Book 2. Curses.
  • I'm trying to look at photos from my niece's Disney PhotoPass card on the PhotoPass website. I'm guessing it was created by the same team in charge of the Hub. Argh.
  • Who are your top three Muppets? Mine are Fozzie, Kermit, and Rowlf.
  • So in addition to now having read the first three Harry Potter books, I can no longer say I've never seen any of the films.
  • I might be starting Duke Nukem Forever tonight. Now where did I put those balls of steel?
  • Alert the media!! The stars have seemingly aligned, and on July 4 - for one show and one show only - it looks as if Philip Nolen and I will FINALLY appear on stage together at TAIE. I'm shivering with antic---pation!
  • Back to the Big Blue World tonight for a brush-up rehearsal. Who's with me?
  • Wants to get new specs. Who's been to MyOptics, Inc.?
  • Sorry to everyone with whom I was playing Hanging with Friends: I resigned all my games and deleted the app because it bores the crap out of me.
  • One of my apps mysteriously disappeared from my iPhone and when I went to track it down I updated another app ... and them promptly lost all my folders. WTF?!?
  • When ordering a footlong BLT from Subway, and once the bacon has been placed on the bread, the next question out of the sandwich-maker's mouth should NOT be "and what else would you like on it?"
  • Today's fun fact: Scottish teenagers do not know what "cougars" are.
  • AMC Chew & View... an experience I NEVER need to do again.
  • Like I did last week with Hanging with Friends, this week it's Words with Friends getting the ax. Tired of people obviously cheating and just not overall interested in the game any more.
  • Snails, sneezing lessons, and Shiniqua – a super fun afternoon today at Idol!

JULY

  • Now that it's gone, I don't think that June really did bust out all over.
  • will be joining this year's ENCORE! Cast Choir & Orchestra show as a storyteller!
  • Fun night with the Idol gang at BB King's tonight!
  • In honor of Independence Day, I shall wear something star-spangled to work today.
  • Two important things happened today: (a) I shared the TAIE stage for the first time ever with Philip Nolen; (b) I finished the last Harry Potter book.
  • The house next door finally sold. You gotta love new neighbors who have so many cars they have to park on their lawn, park in front of our house, and double up in the driveway so the sidewalk is blocked. Really classes up the neighborhood.
  • "I'm only thinking of..." Laura Hodos and Lulu Picart. Seeing Man of LaMancha tonight at freeFall!
  • In a bit of Google overload - trying both Chrome and Google+ at the same time.
  • Invites are back open for Google+. If you'd like an invite, hit me up with your gmail email address. Don't know how long this will last (and I can only invite until I have to leave for work in 45 minutes).
  • Ok, I admit it - now that I've read them, I finally get all the Harry Potter fascination/love. :-)
  • just did something to myself that I've never ever done in my entire life!
  • Anyone need a Google+ invite? PM me with your gmail address! ;-)
  • Ok, tourists... It's just rain. You can drive in it. It's just like rain you have at home. Honest.
  • Going to my first spin class - wish me luck!
  • So THAT'S what the inside of a Gold's Gym looks like!
  • has run his errands and is gonna be poolside in about 15 minutes. Yay for days off!
  • I've been very bad at going through my friend requests (I sometimes forget to go to that tab!), so my apologies to those who sent one in and it took me awhile to accept it.
  • does not mind admitting that I will not be seeing HP7.2 until sometime next week... preferably at a mid-week early showing with as few people as possible.
  • So, the storm knocked out our cable internet... but not our neighbor's, apparently. :-)
  • Today's tip for tourists: it's called a speed bump, not a stop sign.
  • I keep turning the "new" Facebook chat off, and Facebook keeps turning it back on every time I go back to my home page. Keep it up, Facebook, you're only making Google+ look better and better.
  • Three totally unrelated comments: (1) HP 7.2 did not disappoint (and Rickman was amazing); (2) Thanks to FB, I continue to be amazed at the presumption (and gall) of some people; (3) My night guard stayed in my mouth last night.
  • My feed jumps from status updates from "one hour ago" to "13 hours ago". Gotta love Facebook sometimes. :-/
  • Just finished "A Dance With Dragons". More, please!
  • "Does it involve feathers?"
  • is holding down the fort.
  • Had a fun Idol finale show tonight, featuring surprise guests Scotty, Lauren, Casey, Naima, and Thia from Season 10!!
  • is a director without a theater.
  • Another opening, another show! Tonight begins "Encore! An American Revival - A Concert Celebrating the Voice of America". You will be blown away by the amazing voices and orchestra!
  • First weekend of Encore's "An American Revival - A Concert Celebrating the Voice of America" has come and gone. Get your tickets now for next weekend's shows and hear some truly awesome performances by the soloists, choir, and orchestra!

AUGUST

  • Today's tip for tourists: See that lever attached to your steering column? No, not the windshield wipers... the other one. That's your turn signal. If you actually use it, then the rest of us will know where the heck you're planning on going.
  • So, the fact that Facebook lets you see your friends' posts in groups you're not even a member of is something new, yes? How bizarre.
  • Spin class = ouch. Lauriel = mean.
  • Encore's final 3 Performances begin tonight! And we're well on our way to a SELL OUT this weekend! Don't be left out - click here: (An American Revival - A Concert Celebrating the Voice of America)
  • You know, it's weird that Friday is my Monday.
  • My very first ENCORE! Cast Choir & Orchestra experience is over - the soloists, choir, and orchestra were all amazing, the creative staff and tech crew achieved fantastic results, and much fun was had with my fellow actors. I'm super-excited about next year's charity and hope to be involved in some way to help a cause very near and dear to me. Kudos to all!
  • Folks, I am dead serious about this: DO NOT ADD ME TO AN "OPEN GROUP" WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. Those of you posting on those "You know you live in/are from [town]" or "I remember [workplace] when..." are basically spamming our newsfeeds thanks to Facebook's new "testing" phase and I WILL NOT be a party to it, nor should any of you. Stop posting on those sites. I've been reporting these posts (and, by extension, you) as spam, but I doubt it does any good, so my next step is just to unfriend the folks doing it. And while I doubt you will care, either, it will make ME feel better (and un-clutter my newsfeed with that crap).
  • Well, I tried the Google Music beta and, much like Google Wave before it (remember that?), decided it wasn't for me. I'm still liking Google+, tho.
  • Today's A+: BBQ day in the greenroom featuring the awesome skills of Jack Yager. My workmates rock!
  • Today's D-: People who leave voicemails saying, "Give me a call, I need to ask you something". Here's a thought - ask me in the message, so when I call back I already have the answer.
  • Thank you, rain, for holding off this morning and afternoon (so far) and giving me a chance to lie by the pool and work on my tan a bit.
  • has some re-imagining to do. Let's see what we come up with this afternoon!
  • Millennia Cheesecake Factory: where they seat you so close to other tables that you have to text one another to say something snarky about the other customers.
  • Facebook will not load anything to my feed prior to "4 hours ago", so I hope none of you did anything interesting before 6am.
  • Ate my weight in loaded latkes today. I totally blame those LaMancha trollops.
  • Just ate goat for the first time. Wasn't too baaaaaaad....
  • Wow. Just got called an "asshole" (via e-mail) by a local theater proprietor for having to ask - a second time, mind you - to be removed from an e-mail list I never asked to be put on in the first place. Pot? Kettle?
  • is reading scripts, both old and new, for possible directing/producing for Fringe 2012.
  • Did I NEED to eat chicken and waffles for dinner last night (with a coffee milkshake for dessert)? No. Was it mighty tasty? Yes. Am I paying for it this morning? Definitely. Will I ever learn? Probably not.
  • had a very full, yet productive and positive day today (even including a trip to health Services). To celebrate, I think I'll go to Chicago tomorrow.
  • Ah yes, THAT'S what Burger King tastes like. I'd forgotten...

SEPTEMBER

  • Flight home delayed. Meh.
  • Ugh. What happened to the "Hide all posts by X" feature?
  • Why yes, I do believe I'm getting a head cold, although I can't really complain too much since it's been a long time since I've been sick. I guess I'm due. Achoo!
  • I love getting carded for buying Nyquil. :-)
  • Ok, so I gave up on FB games a long time ago, but Sims Social has sucked me in. It's making want to re-install Sims 3 on my Mac. Grrrr.....
  • needs a new profile pic.
  • has his best 70s polyester on to see "54" tonight — with Jeff Jones.
  • Time flies! It was 10 years ago this week that Kevin Bee and I moved to Orlando. Wow.
  • would take audition notices and director opportunities a lot more seriously if they included proper grammar and spelling.
  • Please copy & paste this to your status if you are constantly being asked to copy & paste something to your status by friends who copy & paste things to their status. Many people won't copy & paste this but my true sarcastic friends will copy & paste it because they know this was copied & pasted from a dear friend in need of more stuff to copy & paste...thank you! And don't forget the heart... ♥
  • Good gosh, I had a very productive do-nothing day: laundry, biking, comic book reading, and acquainting myself with some new music. Oh, and I changed a lightbulb.
  • Hey, remember when I got called an "asshole" (via e-mail) by a local theater proprietor for having to ask - a second time, mind you - to be removed from an e-mail list I never asked to be put on in the first place? I got another e-mail today! Clearly, this is now petty, spiteful, and deliberate behavior. Wonder what I'll get called this time?
  • Is it wrong to wish that - at least occasionally - acts of kindness were a two-way street?
  • I'm guessing Yelp has the same deal with Facebook that Gowalla does. Neither of them will stay hidden on my feed. Meh.
  • Can anyone access the Disney Hub using Google Chrome? I keep getting an "Invalid Server Certificate" error every time I try to access any kind of castmember Disney site.
  • Had a fun time tonight at the The 50th Birthday Roast of Janine Klein. Also great to see some faces I haven't seen in a while!
  • has just discovered the new love of his life: lobster mashed potatoes.
  • I saw the FB changes last night, so I knew what to expect. Woke up this morning to 23 "Top Stories". Really? 23? That seems excessive. Also woke up to 10 new people who've added me on Google+. Correlation? Definitely.
  • It's weird: it's the end of September, it's 91 degrees, I'm lounging by the pool... and learning Christmas music. I love Florida! :-)
  • Had a very fun first rehearsal as a new member of The Caroling Company. What a nice group of folks, and singing some awesome vocal arrangements doesn't hurt, either! :-)
  • Dear Facebook friends - Just so you know, I'm NOT going to uncheck your comments and likes feed. I WANT to know every little thing that you're doing 24/7. Muahahahahahahaha!!!
  • Hey, Facebook: I will admit that (gasp!) I hide some friends' feeds for various reasons... but if you're going to show me their feed anyway whenever someone comments on it, then your "unsubscribe" feature really isn't working the way it should, right? Not a complaint, just an observation. :-)
  • The owl has landed. Hello, Pottermore.
  • While I'm definitely enjoying the company, the rest of Not So Scary hasn't been all that - I'm not sure what's been worse, the rude guests or the rude cast numbers working the event. :-(
  • I'm pretty sure this was the geekiest day off I've ever had. I explored more Pottermore, played a bunch of Sims Social, downloaded and played Tiny Tower for the iPad, and watched more Season 2 of The Big Bang Theory.

OCTOBER

  • Surprise of the afternoon: Laura Hodos brownies!
  • I guess it's time to bite the bullet and get new headshots done. Tonight I was told, "Wow, you look so different!"
  • Ok, so I may have just had some Menchies. For lunch.
  • Well, I finally checked and lo and behold - looks like I'm eligible for the new iPhone upgrade, whatever it may be. Woo!
  • Any friends working in the Wizarding World this afternoon?
  • It's a pizza-and-wings kinda night!
  • How can you not love Downton Abbey when you get classic lines like this: "I wish Edith had left it till morning. I could have faced it all with one more night of sleep!"
  • Fa la la la la, la la la la!
  • To 4S, or not to 4S? That is the question!
  • I'm guessing that by now Facebook is a multi-million dollar company, right? Then why can't they seem to come up with an app that actually works?
  • iPhone and iPad updated with iOS5... all other iMac software updated... this week's comic books downloaded... 4S pre-ordered... rehearsal music loaded on Nano... clothes ironed and packed... yup, I'm ready for vacation!
  • One of the best things about the iOS5 update is that now I can annoy Jim Braswell in the dressing room with fun e-mail notification sounds. Muahahahahaha! :-)
  • Back from first non-Disney cruise. My report: The good - a fun time with great friends; met some fun new folks; wholeheartedly enjoyed the activities we participated in (including the trip to Atlantis); the shows and entertainment were pretty good; a decent amount of eye candy. The meh - the ship smelled like an ashtray everywhere you went; sections were in disrepair; much of the food was average; the stateroom was minuscule (I know, I've been spoiled by Disney); many (but not all) of the staff were surly and disgruntled. The bad - neither the GLBT Center nor their travel agent felt it necessary to plan ANY events for this so-called "Pride of the Seas" cruise. There was nothing GLBT about this trip whatsoever, and no communication at all from either establishment. Major fail. No one's fault - the weather sucked. Rain all weekend and bad enough conditions to prohibit going to the private island, so we were stuck on the floating ashtray an extra day. Nassau is even worse in the rain. I think we'll stick with Disney cruises. :-)
  • Vacation's over - back to work tomorrow!!
  • FYI: Elvis is alive and well... and won the American Idol Experience finale tonight.
  • Funny yet awww-inspiring: watching Buddy wanting and attempting to play with his tennis ball, but not being able to figure out how.
  • is now basking in the glow of 4S awesomeness. Siri, take a memo...
  • Last season, I managed to total 1834 Christmas songs on my iPod. I've just started the 2011 collection by adding 28 more. 'Tis the season!
  • Two firsts today - Century Costumes and OBoy's BBQ!
  • Ok, so I mayyyyyy have traded in some games today and picked up Arkham City. Which I mayyyyyy start tomorrow. With my batarang controller.
  • Good gosh, it's early.
  • has now officially been awake for 24 hours. Woo-hoo!!
  • Despite the lack of sleep and the early hour, had a GREAT time on the Haunted Mansion tour with my Idol family. :-)
  • Just discovered the microphone icon on the new OS's keyboard. Happy day!!
  • Started Arkham City today. Favorite lines of dialogue so far: Harley Quinn: The Joker's not feeling himself. Well actually, he was earlier, but that's not what I mean.
  • Thug 1: Is is true what they say about Harley? Thug 2: What, that she used to be a dude?

NOVEMBER

  • Clearly, I lack the hand-eye coordination necessary to maneuver the Remote Control Batarang. I need to step away from the console before I remote-control it right out the window.
  • Our number one son has had a rough couple of weeks... getting poked and prodded, having surgery, and enduring a bunch of tests. Sadly, the results are that Buddy does indeed have cancer. Poor little guy. :-(
  • When your dental hygenist's accent is so thick that you can barely understand her, it's probably time to find a new dentist.
  • Gregory Maguire has just released the fourth (and final) installment of the Wicked series, Out of Oz (which follows Son of a Witch and A Lion Among Men). While I'm not in any way a fan of the musical Wicked, I absolutely love the original book. I think it's time to start at the beginning again and read all 4 back-to-back!
  • I foolishly went to the Guitar Center that's near my house in a futile attempt to actually purchase something music-related. I was quickly reminded why I never go there - a sales staff that could not be less interested in customer service.
  • Has anyone tried iTunes Match yet? I've only read about Patrick Gaik's experiences so far.
  • Things I'm looking forward to this week: the show schedule at Idol... getting my haircut tomorrow... Wednesday night plans... the Muppets... Thanksgiving... officially being able to play Christmas music.
  • Listening to the new Muppets soundtrack - so far it's pretty awesome. :-)
  • Sam the Eagle, Rowlf, Link Hogthrob, and Beaker singing Smells Like Teen Spirit beats chickens clucking out Cee-Lo Green any day.
  • I had to miss it last year, so I'm super-excited to be participating in the 2012 Orlando Fringe Festival, sharing the stage with the ever-effervescent Mitzi Morris in "Dazzled to Death!" (Yellow Venue)
  • "Life's a happy song when there's someone by your side to sing along!"... The Muppets are back, folks - the movie was GREAT! Wocka wocka!!
  • Leftover cheddar cheese soup (Epcot style)? Don't mind if I do!
  • My first caroling gig with The Caroling Company is tomorrow night in downtown Celebration. Haul out the holly, y'all!
  • A little TAIE history in the making this afternoon: our first holiday song performance will be in the 4:30 show.
  • Great googly moogly - I just made dinner for Kevin! Alert the media! (Oh wait... I guess I just did...)
  • Just watched a Season 1 episode of The Muppet Show in which Sandy Duncan's opening number was set in a seedy bar and was basically about her boozing and whoring. Ah, the 70s!
  • Just added my 2000th song to my iTunes Christmas playlist - approx. 90 hours of holiday music and it's not even December yet!

DECEMBER

  • Getting up early tomorrow to take the Orlando Polar Bear Plunge 2011!! Brrrrrrr....
  • As much as I'm a fan of the man, I don't think I ever need to hear Neil Diamond sing the Hallelujah Chorus again. Seriously.
  • Caroling at Universal starts today (for me, anyway)... and my family arrives in town tomorrow - exciting week!!!
  • How is it that there are still people in this world who have no idea how to use the credit card machine at the checkout?
  • Thought for the day: Just because it mentions mittens, wrapped packages, and snowflakes does not mean "My Favorite Things" is a Christmas song.
  • Just saw a Disney bus run a red light. Tsk.
  • Thought for the day: I don't care how young she is, I don't want to see your daughter in the men's room.
  • Not gonna lie - it was very cool to see Neil Patrick Harris in the Idol audience today. :-)
  • Caroling today in the Holiday Village at Universal Studios, then our first production meeting tonight for "Dazzled to Death!". Let's hope Mitzi leaves the mistletoe at home.
  • Hey, Florida DoT: Surely SOMEething can be done about the 408 on-ramp. It's f'ing ridiculous - morning, noon, and night!
  • Why are tourists fascinated with squirrels? It's not like they're indigenous to the United States...
  • While walking the dogs the other night, we were admiring the Christmas lights in the neighborhood, and happened to notice our (new) next-door neighbors had added some landscaping to their front lawn. While walking the dogs this afternoon, I could now see that the new landscaping... is actually an artificial Christmas tree. On. Their. Front. Lawn. That's "Klassy" right there, folks!
  • Just recorded my holiday track. Thanks to the magic of audio technology, I'm going to sound totally 70s! Groovy!!
  • I think I like Timeline a lot, but not the way it oddly crops any photo you put on your wall.
  • I'm always amazed at how many people leave the dealership sticker on the back of their car.
  • Had much fun Caroling in Celebration tonight - despite a  visit from the town's version of the Grinch. Singing again tomorrow night - this time in someone's home! Good thing I'm housebroken. :-)
  • Ah, the best laid plans... sigh...
  • Very fun day judging with Laura and Jayne, but for some reason I'm incredibly hungry! — with Jayne Trinette and Laura Hodos.
  • Hi-ho, hi-ho, it's off to carol I go!
  • Dear 22-year old "vocal performance major studying with the Orlando Opera" working at the candy apple stand: you might want to wait until *you're* making a living singing before you start critiquing our performances. Just a thought.
  • I think we can all agree that educated folks should know the difference between "your" and "you're" and "it's" and "its". Can we please also add knowing the difference between "reply" and "reply to all" to that list?
  • For Christmas Eve, I shall be judging four Idol shows (will I be naughty or nice?), then caroling at the Hilton Grand Vacation Suites near Sea World. For Christmas Day, there will be more judging and more caroling (this time at Disney's Shades of Green Resort)... all in lovely 80-degree weather. It is indeed a Happy Holiday!! :-)
  • It's BritTV night for Boxing Day: Downton Abbey Christmas Special, the new AbFab, and the Doctor Who Christmas Special. Pip, Pip!
  • My final caroling gig of the season is today at Universal, and it looks like I might actually have a use for my scarf. Perfect! :-)
  • Anyone else playing Road Trippin' for the iPad/iPhone? I'm a little obsessed...
  • Caroling season may be over, but it really made me remember how much I like part singing.
  • Microwave burritos, potato chips, diet root beer, and chocolate pudding - that is the dinner of champions, y'all. :-)
  • <--- is planning on spending New Year's Eve in Arkham City. Evildoers beware!
